At SUNHE ENERGY, R&D investment is directed at two parallel fronts: advanced material systems and the process equipment needed to bring them into production.
Advancing Material Systems
Our research focuses on material combinations that lift energy density, improve safety and extend cycle life, including high-voltage chemistries, silicon-bearing anode approaches and semi-solid formulations. Teams study how electrode composition, electrolyte selection and interface behavior interact, turning laboratory findings into repeatable cell designs that customers can build products around. We evaluate each candidate formulation against practical targets such as rate capability, low-temperature performance and safety before it is considered for a customer program.
Process Equipment as an Enabler
A promising material only becomes a product when the equipment can reproduce it consistently. We invest in pilot and production equipment that supports precise coating, winding or stacking, formation and testing, so that lab-level performance transfers smoothly to mass manufacturing. Tighter control over coating weight, alignment and formation charging directly improves consistency, which is why equipment upgrades are never treated as optional.
Connecting the Two Fronts
Materials and equipment are developed side by side. Engineers adjust formulations against real process windows, and equipment is tuned around the materials we intend to scale. This tight loop shortens the path from a new idea to a qualified custom battery solution.
