Semi-solid battery technology is moving from lab promise to real products, and SUNHE ENERGY is building an industrialization path around ultra-thin, high-capacity cells.
What Semi-Solid Means for Our Products
Compared with conventional liquid pouch cells, a semi-solid system reduces free electrolyte and uses a more solidified interface, which can improve structural stability and safety while supporting higher loading of active material. We see this as a practical step between conventional liquid cells and fully solid-state systems rather than a distant laboratory concept. In practice it translates into slimmer cells that still hold more energy — a direct fit for compact consumer and wearable designs.
Toward Industrial-Scale Production
Industrializing semi-solid cells is not only a chemistry question. Coating, stacking, sealing and formation processes must be re-engineered so the new chemistry runs reliably on automated lines. We have been developing these processes in parallel, so that prototype performance can be reproduced at batch scale.
Target Applications and Next Steps
Our current focus is ultra-thin, high-capacity cells for smart wearables, portable electronics and magnetic power banks. We continue to refine cycle life, safety behavior and production consistency, working closely with customers who need the next generation of compact, high-energy power inside their products.
